Talenta Primary School’s
English Competitions 2019
“Speak Up in English!”
English is the international language which is used by many countries all over the world. Talenta Primary School realizes that English is really important. That is the reason why the school still includes English as a local content for the students, even though there is no English subject in the Curriculum 2013. The school also holds some English programs to enrich students and teachers experience in using English. One of them is this Talenta Primary School’s English Competitions 2019 “Speak Up in English!” which was held on December 16th 2019.
The event took place in two areas. The low graders were in the hallway and the high graders were in the hall. The students, both the participants and the audience, were very enthusiatic to join the competitions. They had prepared and waited for this event. The teachers also contributed their active participations in the event. All MCs also tried to speak in English. Miss Asti as one of the MCs said, “It’s good for us to practice to speak up in English, just like the title of this event. Don’t be afraid if you made mistakes. To speak up in English is more important than to think too much in English.”
The participants joined various competitions and showed their best to the judges and audiences. The competitions were closed by two dance performances by Girlz Squad (Michelle, Orva, Jesslyn, and Allena) and Divergent Dance Crew (Lionel, Philbert, Quinn, Aylee, and Joyce).
